    Meet Your Hosts

    Open All Year

Hey campers - Check out our 2012 Family Friendly Rates at Sugarloaf Key / Key West KOA!

Come spend the night in an American icon while you enjoy the pleasures of the Florida Keys at the Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA! Experience the nostalgia and romance that only an Airstream travel trailer can provide. These special units are fully outfitted and ready for you to enjoy while you experience all that the Keys have to offer. Our Airstream sleeps up to four people, and includes a queen bed and two twin beds. You'll have all of the comforts of home while you say in the world's most unique and recognizable RV - all just a short stroll to the beach, or a short drive to Key West!

Set between the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA is a true beachfront resort. You'll find amenities and activities designed to please everyone in the family, including ecotours and sunset cruises in the Gulf, local fishing and beachside fun at the campground's own water haven. Dine under swaying palm trees and sip frozen margaritas on the waterfront veranda of the campground's pub. Are you a tent camper? The largest tent camping area in the Florida Keys is waiting for you, along with sparkling clean restrooms and hot showers. Even your family pet will have fun at the pet playground specifically designed for them. Ever-appealing Key West lies just 14 miles south. Hop on the campground's shuttle to this funky and historic end of the road, dubbed "the Conch Republic." Walk the narrow streets showcasing Conch architecture-breezy wood houses with lush tropical gardens-once home to pirates, treasure hunters, sailors, novelists like Hemingway and songwriters like Buffett. End the day with a sunset at Mallory Pier.

Greg Dunagan, manager of the Sugarloaf Key KOA, is committed to making the Sugarloaf Key KOA "the best place to stay while enjoying all that the Florida Keys have to offer!"

Greg says that his goal is to greet everyone with a smile and provide guests with friendly service and a clean park. "We have GREAT people here to help our guests get the most out of their Florida Keys experience."

"We had a couple from Germany staying with us this past summer that operates a gold plating business. They were so happy with the service they received that they gave us some of their plated U.S. coins to express their appreciation," says Greg.

"I've always enjoyed RVing with my wife, Machele, and our two Labrador Retrievers, Rudy and Abby. I also always had an interest in the hospitality industry. We purchased and operated a KOA franchise park, and then I looked into working with KOA as a manager of a Company Operated Property."

Greg has a long history of business experience, including being a Financial Analyst and PC/Systems Support Analyst for Boeing; a Business Systems Analyst; and Business Unit Consulting Manager.

When they get free time, Greg and Machele take motorcycle trips together or load up Rudy and Abby in the motor home and hit the road.
